What a day,
it's another whirlpool sinking through
till the day is gone
when I leave my bed to the sound of engines
and the TV's on in another room.

Catch my breath
as I board the van
and I take my seat by the window side
with a cigarette and another coffee
I can shut my eyes
and see the world go by

This is some existence
never sure of the place
I'm in bags packed
and I'm up and leaving
match my scowl with anothers grin
Somewhere new, there's no explanation
just a word or two from the big command
and the window's fogged from the condensation
from the air that's hot here inside the van
Whirlpool . . .
